Barbara Michele Carby, 65, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born March 21, 1961, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Bob Russell & Joann Gibbs, she was a class of '79 graduate from Shelby County High School and very proud to be the long-term coordinator of the Gaslight Festival for the city of Louisville. Barbara loved listening to Keith Whitley's music, painting & crafting, collecting home decor, and tending to her garden. She enjoyed watching the show Survivor and loved U.K. Basketball.

Surviving are her daughters, Tabitha Harper & Heather Bryan; a brother, Dale (Doree) Russell; her grandchildren: Jaden & Jacob Roberts and Kayley Bryan; her great-grandchild, Bryson Roberts; a nephew, Vincent Russell; and her cat, Pearl.

Also preceding her in death was her stepfather, Cecil "Charlie" Gibbs, and a niece, Amber Russell.

In accordance with her wishes, Barbara will be cremated with no formal services.
