Mary Katherine McChesney Hayes, 63, of Lexington, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at Baptist Health-Lexington.

Born May 1, 1960 in St. Charles, Illinois to the late Robert Oren & Mary Katherine Gissel McChesney, she was a retired Registered Nurse who worked for many years in the I.C.U. at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa Valley, California. Mary loved to garden and be outdoors. She also enjoyed playing piano, painting watercolors, spending time with her grandchildren and was immensely proud of her long nursing career.

Surviving are 3 children: David Daniel (Amie) Hayes of Georgetown, John Francis Hayes of Vallejo, California & Saretha Leone (Kyle) Crawford of Lexington; 2 brothers, Stephen (Roberta) McChesney & Andrew (Linda) McChesney; 3 sisters: Theresa (Jose) Vazquez, Christine (Dennis) Just & Alison (Tom) Nielsen; and 3 grandchildren: Aarelinn & Daiven Hayes and Kathryn Crawford.

The family will hold a celebration of life in the near future.
