Chance Averitt

Chancelor Rhion Averitt, 29, of Nicholasville, passed Friday, April 26, 2024 at 7:50pm at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Born November 13, 1994 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, he enjoyed loud music, rebuilding motors and making things run, pit bulls, driving fast, and making people laugh. He was a born pessimist and a cynic. He was the sweetest, most beautiful, whip-smart, curious, mischievous, and lovely little boy. He was generally unsatisfied, hard to please and impatient as hell. He did not appreciate beauty in nature, nor did the "little things" matter much to him. He was a tortured soul from the very beginning. He was also too smart for his own good. He was a gentle giant with a heart of pure gold. And one had better not mess with his little brother or sisters. 

Surviving are his mother, Mary Katherine Meadows; his father, Jeffery Wayne Averitt; a daughter, Skylar Storm Averitt; brothers, Devon Lucas (Kristen) Averitt & Thomas Odren (Madison Brierley); & "Uncle" Korey Dail; two sisters, Macey Elizabeth Meadows & Lauryn Rose Kennedy; his Gran, Elizabeth Rose Hamblin; his Uncle Blake Mize; Aunt Rhiannan Mize Davis & Family; Cousins Meredith Downey & Family; His Grandfather Larry Arbaugh; Patty Cottrell & Family; Laurie Arbaugh & Family; Matthew Arbaugh & Family; Kimberly Cottrell & Family, and Christopher Emanuel Meadows & Family. 

Preceding him in death were his Ge-Ma, Kathleen (Kathy) Jo Arbaugh; his grandfather, Anthony Curtis Meadows; baby sister, Julia; baby brother, Jase; and his Uncle Erick Bixler. 

A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held 5:00-7:00P.M. on Monday, April 29th at Great Crossing Funeral & Cremation with a Time of Remembrance at 7:00P.M.
