Derrik McDowell Obituary

Derrik McDowell, 50, husband of Tracey Hampton McDowell, died October 22, 2021. Born May 13, 1971 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Derrik was the son of Bonnie Gross McDowell and the late William McDowell III. He served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ranger during the Desert Storm conflict. Derrik was an avid Jeff Gordon fan and loved Nascar. In addition to his wife Tracey, he is survived by his children, Jacob, Alexis, Isabella, Abigail and Austin. He is also survived by his siblings Debbie, Gail, Jamie, Tim, Bill, and Patricia. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 27th from 11:00AM to 8:00PM at Great Crossing Funeral & Cremation, 1400 N. Broadway, Lexington, KY 40505. Funeral services will be private on Thursday, October 28th. Inurnment and military honors will be held at 12:30 PM on Wed., Nov. 24, 2021, at New Albany Nation Cemetery, 1943 Ekin Ave., New Albany, IN 47150.
