Dorothy M. Thompson

Dorothy M. Thompson, 93, of Lexington, died January 22, 2022. Born September 20, 1928, in Grantsville, Maryland, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Charles and Nora Spiker. Dorothy was married to the late John L. Thompson for 56 years and was a member of Highlands Baptist Church for 54 years. She is survived by daughters, Jenny Bates of Lexington, KY and Melody Rednour (Billy) of Albany, KY; son, Jody Thompson (Debra) of Georgetown; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Linda Thompson; three sisters; two brothers; and a lot of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her sons, Kevin Thompson and Lindsey Thompson; two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at Highlands Baptist Church, 2032 Parallel Rd., Lexington, KY 40511 on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 1:00 PM with visitation prior, starting at 11:00 AM. Minister Leon Huffman will officiate the service. Burial will be in Wayne County, KY at Gap Creek Cemetery, Gap Creek Cemetery Rd, 42633, on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 2:00PM EST. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Highlands Baptist Church, 2032 Parallel Rd., Lexington, KY 40511.
