Karen Sue Hibbard

Karen Sue Hibbard, 73, of Lexington, died September 19, 2022. Born August 29, 1949, in East Saint Louis, IL, Karen was the daughter of the late Walter and Deloris Rister Lauerman. Karen was a devoted Christian, loving mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of Thompson Road Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, David W. Hibbard (Roxanne), and Matthew L. Hibbard; grandchildren, Rachel Anne Hibbard, and Nathaniel D. Hibbard; siblings, Debbie Richter, Paul Lauerman, Mary Chance (Allen) and Kathy Morris (Harry); a host of nieces and nephews; many family and church friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Leo W. Hibbard; granddaughter, Gabrielle Hope Hibbard; sisters, Barbara Brummett, and Sandy Lauerman; and brothers-in-law, Harold Richter and Leonard Brummett. Funeral services for Karen will be at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Thompson Road Baptist Church, 320 Thompson Rd., Lexington, KY 40508. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Thompson Road Baptist Church, 320 Thompson Rd., Lexington, KY 40508. Burial will be in The Lexington Cemetery, 833 W. Main St., Lexington, KY 40508. Great Crossing Funeral & Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
