Marianne Mae Violette Castonguay, 87, wife of the late Claude Joseph Castonguay, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Born May 24, 1936 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late William Joseph & Anita Lalonde Viollette, she worked for many years as a civil servant for the U.S. Air Force. Marianne was an avid reader (sometimes completing a novel a day), enjoyed watching sci-fi movies and studying archeology. She loved the heat, spending lots of time out in the sun and traveling to warm places.
Surviving are a son, Steven Mark (Lori Hermansen) Castonguay; a daughter, Claudia Dampier; 5 grandchildren: Jason (Molly) Goodwin, Sarah (Cody) Messmer, Jennifer (Travis) Brumagen, Christopher (Danielle) Dampier & Katie Castonguay; and 11 great-grandchildren: Kaelyn Goodwin, Olivia Corcoran, Jordan Goodwin, Ethan Messmer, Cathryn Messmer, Garrett Messmer, Karry Brumagen, Katie Brumagen, Kaleb Brumagen, Malynda Dampier & Lillian Dampier.
Also preceding her in death were 2 sisters, Lorraine Lori & Gean Alevirides, and a grandson, Christopher Castonguay.
In accordance with her wishes, Marianne will be cremated.
