Monastere Sanon, 95, of Georgetown, husband of Madeleine Valiere Sanon, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Hospice Care Center.
Born March 25, 1928 in Jeremie, Haiti to the late Sineus & Cereste Zamy Sanon, he was the former owner of Kay Jezi Block Construction Company and member of Praise Tabernacle Community Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed watching games shows, especially The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune, and soccer. He loved God and his church.
Also surviving are his daughter, Vivianne (Paul) Dumay of Georgetown; a brother, Francois Sanon of Port au Prince, Haiti; a sister, Avelina Sanon of Jeremie, Haiti; several nieces & nephews that he raised as his own: Marie Nancy Sanon, Nerlande S. Pierre, Rony Sanon, Jean Claude Innocent, Geravel Jean, Meddy Jean, Serjette Etienne, Myriam Bazile Sanon, Lisperie Jean, Bachmir Innocent, Marie Vedette Sanon, Steeve Jean Charles, Immacula Dorcy, Myrtha Jean, Brinel Jean, Jemmynael Sanon, Jemmynoah Sanon, Junior Sanon, Astride Sanon, Esau Sanon, Ansy Samuel Sanon, Kensley Jean, Dady Sanon, Djummy Jean, Johnvel Sanon, Steeve Monatere Sanon, Clara Jean, Ruflane Sanon, Sam Pierre, Donald Pierre, Robert Opont, Rose Marthe Opont, Ernst Gabriel, Frantzie Gabriel, Ralph Sanon, Gregory Sanon & Marcenise Sanon; Emmanuel Sanon, his nephew and adopted son; and his pastor from Haiti, Bishop Joel & Doris Jeune.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Lafayette Church of the Nazarene by Pastor Paul Dumay. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, September 8th at the church.
