Savion Bailey-Smallwood Obituary

Savion La’Mont Bailey-Smallwood, 16, of Lexington, was called back to God on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital.

Born October 21, 2007 in Lexington, Savion attended Bryan Station High School, where he was a part of the Spanish Immersion Program and excelled in all of his courses. He will always be remembered for his humbleness, his selflessness and the footprint that he has left in everyone’s life. We’ll always imagine him saying “Pause” or “Can I have a warm blanket?” one more time. We couldn’t have asked for a better son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. We will miss Savion every day, in every moment of our everyday life. Savion’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those who have known and loved him.

Savion is survived by his parents, George R. (Silvia) Smallwood, III & Shane’ La’Shelle Bailey; 4 brothers: Nyle Bailey, Avante’ Bailey, Christian Smallwood & Angel Cordero; a sister, Brooklyn Comley; a special sister, Lucy Landrum; his grandmothers, Rita Ann Bailey & Nicasia Martinez Romero; his loving auntie, Jessica Smallwood; 2 aunties, Karina Martinez & Santa Cordero; and a host of cousins and friends who he cared for deeply.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George, Jr. & Rama Smallwood; his great-grandmother, Hattie Hall; his uncles: Christopher Smallwood, David Bailey & Christopher Bailey, his brother, Xavien La’Marion Bailey; and Laura Landrum.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 29th at the New Beginnings House of Prayer, 1455 Bryan Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services.
