WC James Pearson

WC James Pearson passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born at Lonesome Pine Hospital on February 21, 1979 to Virginia L. Pearson and Robert Miller in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Punkin went to Union Power Valley High School later transferring to Appalachian Bulldogs High School where he graduated, then later attended Mountain Empire Community College studying Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Punkin was gifted in playing different instruments, even playing in the high school band. He then coached his daughter’s Little League Softball team in Big Stone Gap. His football team was the Titans. He loved fishing. He also loved to cook and got his Certified Food Handler certificate and worked in many restaurants. After making a long hard decision, he moved his family to Lexington in September 2023 to be close to his sister, Mary Smith, and his aunt and nephew. He also worked in several restaurants in Lexington before his death.

He is survived by his wife, Mandy; his daughter, Neveah Pearson; his sister, Mary Smith; and lots of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Church of God in Jesus Name, 512 Georgetown Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40508.
